After a pretty successful studio shoot for the resources for Gangstas of Catan, I’ve been testing out the effects for turning the images watercolory and putting them on some aged paper for a bit of that old-school Settlers feel.

Sat down with Angie to take a new portrait for her magazine’s fall issue, and after vainly searching for a good location on a very rainy day, settled on a breakfast instead. Due to some unfortunate technical difficulties, didn’t get anything print-worthy, but I thought this one was pretty cool.

Some watercolor stylin’.

So, after an evening planning session, the concepts are fleshed out. The lines are drawn, and the hoes are gathering for Gangstas of Catan. We’ll be doing a series of photoshoots for the game cards, and then converting them into digital illustrations (since neither of us can illustrate for squat). So I’ve been testing out some photoshop techniques. With varying degrees of success.
